How Vulnerable is Your Retirement Nestegg? What is your Plan “B”?

Where did the American Dream go? How can one feel so secure one moment and so vulnerable the next? The empty nest syndrome has hit Retirees big time. Looking after their families and helping them get on the right path, supplying financial and emotional support for their educations, many older folks are now in need of help themselves. Many are having to go back to work after retirement. One couple was interviewed on a news program and the husband is working at MacDonald's to try to keep things together after losing hundreds of thousands of dollars when his 401K bottomed out. My heart ached for him and his wife because their situation had become so dire.

Fortunately there is a solution to this escalating problem. Thousands upon thousands of people have decided not to rely on their pensions or a minimal paying JOB to carry them through their golden years. Their nest eggs have vanished but not their determination. Many retirees are developing the Entrepreneurial spirit and have decided to set up businesses working from home. They have the grit and hard work ethics to turn a home based business into a huge success. Mom and Pop are learning online marketing skills and computer programming to help them. Many like myself are designing and setting up websites to introduce their businesses to a huge offline and online market. Really when you think of it, this is one of the best things that could happen in a person's golden years, here are some reasons why:

1. You are constantly using your brain. When we retire that is the time we need to exercise our brain like any other muscle in our bodies, helping us to stay mentally alert and warding off diseases like dementia and alzheimer's disease. Starting up your own business is a good way to keep your mind keen and alert.

2. Many people when they retire decide it is time to 'retire from life'. Their best friend becomes the T.V. set and they allow the boob tube to become their means of communicating with the outside world. A big mistake! We need to interrelate with human beings one on one. Having a home based business is one of the best ways of keeping the lines of communication open. My husband and I are constantly meeting new people, making new friends, growing our business and replenishing our nest egg. You can too.

3. When we retire our dream is to travel and see the world. My husband and I have done more traveling since retirement than at any other time in our lives. What has made this possible is the opportunities to travel to different places where conferences are being held. At these conferences we are constantly being trained to further develop new skills and ideas to grow our businesses better and stronger. We have met new people and have had a lot of fun going to new places. We traveled to the Grand Canyon, visited Vegas, California, Texas, Michigan, etc. We are planning a trip to Ireland in the late fall. All of this paid for through our home based business and it is a complete tax write off. WOW! A dream that really has come true in our retirement.

4. Want a tax shelter? Start a home based business in Network Marketing and you have so many expenses you can write off to offset your income. It is truly the best way to take yourself through your retirement years and give you back some of your hard earned money.

5. All of this sounds really exciting you may say, but I could never do it. Yes you can. We did! It was a learning curve but one that is truly rewarding and with so much available on the internet it is very easy to plug into training systems that teach you step by step how to succeed in building a home based business. Put your Plan “B’ into action, you will be glad you did.

I am known on the Internet as "Java" Joan. Recently I embarked on a mission to share the failures and successes of my journey in the Network Marketing Industry. It has been a long, hard struggle and I want to help others to minimize their failures and maximize their successes much faster than it took me to achieve my goals. Personal development is the key to success and it begins with educating yourself to become the best at what you do.
